Hall offers 27 varsity sports (13 boys teams and 14 girls teams) with
additional teams at the junior varsity, B squad and multiple ninth grade teams
for several programs. Seventy three
percent of CDH student’s grades 9-12 participate in Minnesota State High School
League sponsored events. Participation
in athletics is considered an extension of the school day and provides
additional means to carry out the mission and values of Cretin-Derham Hall.

During the fall, winter and spring sport seasons, there are Parent/Athlete Meeting prior to the start of the season. It is encouraged that student and parent(s)/guardian attend the Parent/Athlete Meeting to learn school and MSHSL rules regarding athletics. Program information such as schedules, costs, and expectations are provided by the Head Coach at this meeting. Each individual website may provide additional information for the if you are unable to attend the meeting.

Hall is proud to announce Brent Walby as their new Head Boys Lacrosse Coach.
Coach Walby has served as an Assistant Varsity Coach the past two season under
former Head Coach Pat Donaghy. Walby is a product of Minnesota lacrosse
having started played in high school at Coon Rapids and then moving on to
Minnesota State University - Mankato as a student and athlete. As an
Education Major, Walby brings a strong sense of teaching skills and motivating
high school players to the program. He played four years at the Men's Club
level in college and gave back to the sport coaching as an Assistant at Mankato
while finishing school. Currently, Coach Walby works everyday with
lacrosse, teaching and helping to grow the sport in Minnesota at Homegrown
Lacrosse. Cretin-Derham Hall is excited to have Coach Walby take over the four
year Boys Lacrosse Program.
In 2012, Cretin-Derham Hall hired Pat Donaghy as Head Lacrosse Coach for
its first boys lacrosse team. Coach Donaghy coached in the first 3 years of Boys
Lacrosse at Cretin-Derham Hall. Coach Donaghy stepped down this spring to
pursue other job opportunities. Coach Donaghy set the foundation for our Boys
Lacrosse Program at CDH, teaching the game and growing the sport in our
community. Thank you to Coach Donaghy for the great work and getting the

Finals State Track Meet Results
It was a spectacular day for Sophomore Brieasha Hunter and Senior Megan Linder. They finished in first or second place in the 100m, 200m and 400m dash on a cold rainy final meet of the year. Brieasha won the 100 (12.28) and 400 (55.72) and Megan won the 200 (24.67) . Together they earned 2nd place as a team, the highest track and field girls finish in Cretin-Derham Hall or Derham Hall history. Congratulations to Brieasha Hunter and Megan Linder on great races today.

Prelimiary State Track Meet Results
Sophomore Brieasha Hunter and Senior Megan Linder burned up the track today and qualifying for finals for the 100m, 200m, and 400m. In the 100, Hunter earned a number one seed in 100 with a prelim time of 12.08 and Megan Linder earned the three seed with a time of 12:31. In the 400, Hunter ran a 55.08 and Linder ran a 55.26, both winning their heats by over 1 second of their competitors. In the 200, Hunter ran 24.42 and Linder a 24.55. earning the two and three seed respectively.
Senior Becca Wilcox cleared 4 feet 10 inches in the High Jump competition today.
Due to illness, Senior Jake McDermott was not able to participate in the 3200 meter run today.
Cretin-Derham Hall Girls Golf wins section 4AAA. The Raiders won the 2 day tournament shooting 680 for the 6 person team. They were 16 strokes above the second place team. Congrats to the team and Coach Anderson! Members of the team are seniors Celia Kuenster, Alex Gejeski, Madeline McDonnell, junior Kalay Kotasek, ninth graders Molly Ploetz and Audrey Hapka.
Boys Golfers Senior Tom Otto and Sophomore Elias Weber advance to the state golf meet. Tom Otto finished second and Elias Weber finished fourth overall in the 4AAA Section Golf Meet. The State Meet is scheduled June 10th and 11th at Bunkers Hill Golf Course in Coon Rapids for the girls and boys.

Senior Megan Linder won the 400 meter dash in the Hamline Elite Meet with a time of 56.83. Senior Jake McDermott earned 3rd place honors in the Hamline Elite Meet with a time of 9:10.88. Sophomore Brieasha Hunter won the 100 meter dash in a meet record time of 12.17 and is the fastest 100 posted in the state this year. The Hamline Elite Meet is a qualifying time only for top track and field athletes in the state. Linder and Hunter also hold the top two best times in the state for the 200 meter dash with only .01 second difference in time.
Senior Alex Kunzer made
the U19 National Ultimate Frisbee team
for 2014. Twenty five 18-19 years olds
from around the United States made the team after try outs in Atlanta and Seattle in
March. The team will travel to Lecco, Italy
in July for competition.
Junior Abby Kimlinger
was Star Tribune and Pioneer Press Athlete of the
Week for her performance in the game against East Ridge on April 17.
Junior Catcher Abby Kimlinger went 5 for 7 with a double ,3 home runs,
and 9 RBIs in two games this past week. Her three home runs and seven
RBIs powered the Raiders to an 8-6 win over East Ridge. Her 3 homeruns
are believed to be a school record by former Softball Coach Tom Cody and
avid Raider Spectator.
Senior Giselle Rogers was
the Aspire Athlete of the Week, selected among other Aspire Athletes
and interviewed on Mike Max last week. Giselle is a member of the Girls

Kunester was selected as CDH’s Athena Award Winner. The banquet was Wed.

Trainer Alyse Randall received honors from the Minnesota Athletic
Trainers Association in April for Outstanding Athletic Trainer Award in
her work with helping students and families with concussions at CDH.
Saturday, April 26
CDH will be playing a double header in girls and boys lacrosse against
Blake. JV Girls play at 1, JV Boys at 3, Varsity Boys at 5 and Varsity
Girls at 7:15.
This is a special game to Head Coach Pat Donaghy. Coach Donaghy is from
New York, where Lacrosse has a long history of participation and strong
roots. As President of the HEADstrong Foundation this is the first
“Burn Cancer” Lacrosse games being played in MN. See the attached press
