Young Alumni/ae Bishop Cretin SocietyThe Young Alumni/ae Bishop Cretin Society was established to celebrate young alumni/ae of Cretin-Derham Hall (graduates of the last 15 years) who choose to give at a level that distinguishes them among their peers. By joining the Young Alumni/ae Bishop Cretin Society, you are demonstrating your belief in the education and opportunities provided by CDH. The purpose of this society is to encourage and acknowledge the giving of our young alums as they progress through young adulthood. By making reasonable monthly gifts, alums will eventually be ushered into the existing Bishop Cretin Gift Council by their 15th anniversary reunion year. Learn More about The Young Alumni/ae Bishop Cretin SocietyCretin-Derham Hall Donor Loyalty SocietyThe Cretin-Derham Hall Donor Loyalty Society was established to recognize and thank loyal donors to CDH. A donor becomes a member after giving a yearly gift for five consecutive fiscal years. Cretin-Derham Hall recognizes the difference that every gift makes. All gifts help advance the mission and values of the school and support academic excellence and community leadership. Yearly participation in our annual campaign demonstrates that alumni/ae families and friends of CDH care about the school and hope to see it continue for years to come. Members of the CDH Donor Loyalty Society will receive special acknowledgement in the Cretin Derham Hall Annual Report of Donors.Inspired Commitment Matching Gift Challenge In an effort to continue the fine tradition of assisting as many families with financial need as possible, and to keep the momentum of last year's success going, we will be initiating the Inspired Commitment Matching Gift Challenge. This initiative challenges you to maintain or increase your 2009-2010 giving level for a two-year period. All two-year commitments will be matched dollar for dollar by a group of very generous donors, resulting in a new increase in donations of $1,000,000 to help fund the tuition assistance program for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. If you are able, we hope you will consider making a two-year commitment and help us reach our goal in this unique challenge. New legislation now allows individuals 70.5 years old and older to make tax-free gifts up to $100,000 using funds transferred directly from your IRA. If you act by January 31, 2011, your gift will be effective for the 2010 calendar year and you can make a second gift for 2011 anytime between January 1 and December 31, 2011.Legacy Gala DinnerThe Legacy Gala Dinner is the inaugural event at Cretin-Derham Hall that replaces the Hearts of Gold Auction and is the kick off event for the school's Annual Fund. Our hope is that the dinner will become an annual event that will draw guests from all segments of the CDH community—alumni/ae, parents, past parents, faculty, our founding religious orders and friends. Our goals for the Legacy Dinner are the same as they were for the auction: to build community; advance the mission and values of Cretin-Derham Hall; and engender philanthropic support. That dream became a reality this past summer through the generosity of the Cretin High School class of 1950. In recognition of their 60th Anniversary of their graduation they agreed to fund this project. They will gather to celebrate their 60th reunion on September 16 and 17, 2010.
The exterior of the Pax Christi Chapel is now spectacular and draws awe-filled comments from all who pass by this sacred space. Come visit our chapel anytime. Mass is offered at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday while school is in session.
Heritage and Legacy WallsGenerations of Tradition, Foundations for the FutureIn late September 2010, Cretin-Derham Hall will be honoring the heritage and legacy of our school community through the installation of two wall displays in the main Albert Street entrance. These walls are being created in an effort to acknowledge our history and heritage as well as those donors and organizations who have made significant contributions, assuring the continued success of the school for future generations. Additionally,
the Christian Brothers have gifted the school four statues that now
reside in the chapel in the Brother’s Residence. The statues will be
installed in the main entrance of the school when the Legacy and
Heritage displays are installed. The statues are of Jesus, Mary, Joseph
and St. John Baptist DeLaSalle.Click Here to View Slideshows of the Displays
