Parent-to-Parent
Parent-to-Parent is a committee created to promote open communication between parents so common concerns and challenges can be addressed in order to help guide our sons and daughters through their adolescent years. The Parent-to-Parent committee has the following functions:
1) Enroll parents in the Parent-to- Parent program. By joining, parents agree to:
- communicate by telephone regarding activities of their students
- always supervise their children’s parties
- allow only chemical-free activities for their children and friends
- support the CDH policies and laws regarding the use of chemicals
When you join Parent-to-Parent, your student's name in the school directory will feature an asterisk * indicating your membership. This symbol will encourage other parents to call you, usually to confirm the rules of an activity. Letters are sent out to parents in the summer regarding enrollment.
2) Serve as a welcoming committee to contact parents of incoming freshman and new students to welcome them to CDH and offer to be a "mentor parent" in the event these parents have questions during the freshman year.
3) Assist with New Parent Orientation Night (August 16, 2011) to greet new parents, hand out folders that contain practical information about such things as late-start, homecoming, etc. and answer questions that may arise.
4) Work with faculty to schedule speakers to come to CDH and speak to parents about pertinent issues such as drug and alcohol abuse and internet safety.
