Volleyball

The Parent/Athlete meeting for Volleyball is Monday, August 6th, 6pm in the Fieldhouse. The season begins Monday, August 13th.

Cretin-Derham Hall Volleyball program consists of one Varsity, Junior Varsity, and B Squad teams.  Typically, there have been three Ninth Grade teams consisting of 14 to 17 players.  At the Ninth Grade level we have not had to make cuts.  If the number trying out for 9th grade exceeds more than 16-17 players per team, the experience of learning and game situations will decrease for all involved.  However, previous team volleyball experience is strongly suggested.

The Varsity volleyball season is 13 weeks in length with 17 regular season contests.  JV, B Squad, and Ninth Grade teams compete for 11 weeks with 17 dates of competition. Ninth Grade teams are allowed additional dates, and may have more than 17 dates of competition.  All teams practice after school 2:45-5:00PM, Monday through Friday.  Additionally, there will be some weekend practices and tournaments. 

Varsity, JV and B Squad must purchase/provide their own black spandex.  Ninth Grade teams each pay $35 for game t-shirts and spandex shorts. Each team may also purchase additional optional team gear.
